disgruntled resident - a pity you feel that way - given the time and effort put in by all involved -you appear to be in a majority of one - we've had nothing but positive comments about the festival from local people - initial plans to hold a special Jubilee float parade had to be abandoned due to the lack of interest among local groups and businesses in the area - the event was then combined with the Street Festival - perhaps you might like to contribute next year-enthusiastic volunteers are always welcome!

the street festival this year was the poorest excuse for a festival i had the displeasure of being at. Especially in the year of the queens jubilee, I feel there should have been some celebrations at the same time as the rest of the UK. yours disgruntled resident

I have just discovered your page and it is really great. My parents are from Ballymena but immigrated to New Zealand after the 2nd World War so half of us were born 'over there' and the other half 'over here' (of which I am the youngest). It has been really nice to see some of the places that they talk about as between them they have lived in Broughshane, Cullybackey, Ballymena and 1 or 2 others. What you are doing is really interesting - keep up the good work. Colleen Berry (nee Stinson)

Hi, I used to live on the old cullybackey road until 1991 and it was quite a surprise for me to find a web page for the village. I have been flooded with memories. I used to go to ballymena academy. Incidentally, does anybody know if it has a webpage? My address is m.sims1@sheffield.ac.uk. Thanks, and keep up the spirit! Marc
