Overview of Programme

The primary aim of the Ballycastle Community Development Office is to provide a dedicated community support service for the residents of Ballycastle town.

The main work of the project is to stimulate and increase the level of community development activity within the urban area, hoping to create a lively, enthusiastic and vibrant community, involving people and groups in positive change.

The project aims to help develop local capacity within the community by:

  • Conducting a detailed analysis of needs in the town of Ballycastle via short questionnaires, discussion groups and other methods
  • Supplying a wide range of training and learning opportunities
  • Providing a source of networking and co-ordination of networking between Ballycastle residents and other populations from further a field in order to learn from each other and share experiences
  • Helping to form plans of action to help address issues and needs in the town area
  • Offering an administrative service for community groups in Ballycastle town

Ballycastle Community Development Office is grateful to its funder, the Department for Social Development through the Building Sustainable Prosperity Programme.
