NACN Board of Directors
In addition to the expertise, which has been gained over
many years,
the Directors bring their own managerial experience to
the Network
through their personal careers. With such a broad range
of
professional backgrounds, NACN has been well equipped to
take on
new and innovative initiatives and represent the
community at the
highest level.
Mr Edwin Crawford: Islandmagee Community Development
Assoc.
A farmer from Islandmagee outside Larne, Edwin has had
strong
involvement with farming through the UFU and his other
community
activities. His economic interests include being a
Director of North
Antrim Leader+ and Imeall Tra Teo (a cross border
initiative between
North Antrim and Donegal). He has been actively in both
these organisations.
Ms Zara Curry: Stranocum & District Community
Association
Zara has been a member of Stranocum & District
Assocation for eight
years, she has been secretary to the group for six
years. She works
in Development Services Unit of Coleraine Borough
Council.
Mrs Mary Gilmore: Rasharkin Community Association
Mary has worked for 35 years as a teacher and was Head
of Home Economics and Senior Mistress ( Pastoral )
before retiring in 2004.
Mr George Hartin: Bushmills Community Association
George has been involved in Bushmills Community
Association for
almost 12 years. He lives within the Causeway ward and
is in his
third term as a local Councillor in Moyle. George is a
retired
self-employed builder.
Mr Gerard Kelly: Cloney Rural Development Association
Gerard graduated from University of Ulster in 1994 with
a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Worked in Wrightbus
Ballymena, Bombardier (Shorts) Belfast and currently
Crane Stockham Valve as Technical Sales Engineer. Helped
found CRDA in Oct 2000 and has been Chairman
since then. Also involved in Ahoghill GAA club where he
is a qualified
coach. Gerard also plays both football and hurling for
their Senior
Teams. First got involved in NACN as member in 2001,
joined the
board of directors in 2004 and became Chairman in 2006.
Mr James Mc Kay: Cushendun District Development
Association
James has previously worked with EMI Coopers and
Lybrand,
JP Morgan USA Bank, Harland and Wolf and BT before
retiring 2001.
Ms Jenetta Scott: Ballycarry Community Association
Jenetta has been employed for 30 years in further
education.
She is a community voluntary sector member of Larne
Local Strategy Partnership and a member of Ballycarry
Community Association for
the last 10 years.
Mr Sandy Wilson: Broughshane & District Community
Association
Sandy is the involved in Broughshane Village Garden (Broughshane)
Limited and has many management skills having been a
full-time
manager in Saintfield Yarns. His current employment is
as
Co-ordinator for Oakleaf Rural Community Network
